EDC - YETI Rambler Mug, Vacuum Insulated, Stainless Steel with Mug Magslider Lid, Black 414ml

My latest purchase for the early morning drive to work, I went with the Yeti over the numerous other manufacturers mostly because of the reputation they have, and so far the build quality and the hot coffee are paying off.

  • The Rambler Stackable Mug is made from durable stainless steel with double-wall vacuum insulation.

  • 18/8 STAINLESS STEEL: Made with kitchen-grade stainless steel, so they’re puncture and rust-resistant; All YETI Drinkware is BPA-free.

  • The MagSlider Lid adds a barrier of protection for keeping drinks contained and preventing heat or cold from escaping. NOTE - The Magslider Lid is not Leakproof & will not prevent spills.

  • DISHWASHER SAFE.

Currently available on Amazon for £24

Coffee, a few facts

  • The drink dates back to 800 A.D.

  • Coffee beans are technically pits or seeds, not beans they just resemble them.

  • There are two main types: Arabica and Robusta, Robusta has the traditional bitter taste while Arabica is smoother and sweeter.

  • Vietnam is the leading Robusta producer in the world.

  • Only two U.S. states produce coffee.

We Are Makers Edition 9

We Are Makers, along with Monocle this is one of my favourite publications. Great stories about makers from around the world, coupled with beautiful images. The quality of the paper stock matches that of the stories found inside, well worth a read if you are into artisans, art work or just appreciate people who create.

Health & Fitness

Fitness - How is your balance?

May seem like an odd question but it could tell you a lot about your health and fitness.

Balance requires a non-stop stream of information gathered by several systems in the body. And after the age of 50 the ability to balance on one leg tends to decrease. The stats are quite sobering adults between 30 & 40can stand on one foot for 60 seconds or more. At 50 this drops to 45 seconds, at age 70 its just 28 seconds. Add to this the fact that one third of people over the age of 65 have a fall and you can see how maintaining balance is so important.

Try balancing on alternate legs while brushing your teeth or any time you are stood for any length of time, little and often helps a lot. Also yoga and pilates help maintain a strong core and flexibility both of which are key for maintaining balance.
