COOL LOCATION

The Lodge Cafe - Hyde Park .

Sport - Pickleball

If your looking for a fun way to keep fit or meet people Pickeball could be the answer.

Pickleball combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net. Two or four players use solid paddles to hit a perforated polymer ball, over the net as in tennis.

Having taken America by storm Pickleball can now be found across the globe, its the perfect sport for all fitness levels and clubs are popping up everywhere.

Coffee Time

Three interesting coffee facts:

1. Espresso means "pressed out" in Italian.

This refers to the way espresso is made — forcing boiling water through pressed coffee grounds.

2. You can overdose on coffee.

But you would need to drink about 30 cups in a very short period of time to get close to a lethal dose of caffeine!

3. Finland is home to the biggest coffee lovers.

The average adult Finn goes through 27.5 pounds of coffee each year, according to the International Coffee Organization.

Playing Cards

I love playing cards and they are highly collectible. Some collect to actually play poker, others use them for cardistry and magic tricks and some of us keep them mint as an investment.

These are my latest addition to the collection :

Escape Velocity by Vitaly Sinkevich.

Escape Velocity, a deck inspired by the history of space exploration.

The deck honors these adventurers and celebrates their unbreakable spirit.

Escape Velocity decks are available in two editions: the Blue version pays homage to the cold depths of space, while the Red draws inspiration from the fiery bursts of rocket engines.

  • 100% custom deck featuring original symmetric courts with retro astronauts

  • Printed by Cartamundi in Belgium on their signature Slimline stock and true linen B9 finish

  • Edition of only 750 decks in each color (red or blue)

  • 56 poker-sized cards, including two Jokers featuring an astronaut-accordionist, one ad card, and one reveal card.

  • Foil-stamped and embossed box, with a night sky printed inside.

  • The sides of the blue and red boxes form an image of a rocket.

  • Original pips and layouts for number cards

  • Design and illustrations by Vitaly Sinkevich
