Beer of the week

 Franziskaner Hefe Weissbier Germany

Franziskaner Hefe-weissbier is a wheat beer from the Franziskaner brewery in Munich, Germany. Brewed to an age-old recipe, Hefe-Weissbier has a natural cloudiness and a deep, copper-golden colour. If your looking for a change from lager or pale ale this is an excellent choice. Available in most supermarkets for around £2.50 for 0.5L

Coffee Time

A study by the European Society of Cardiology found that drinking two to three cups of coffee per day was linked with a longer lifespan and a lower risk of cardiovascular disease when compared with avoiding coffee.

The findings applied to ground coffee, instant coffee and decaffeinated coffee.

The study involved 450,000 people between the ages 40 and 69 and showed that people who drank caffeinated ground coffee, such as espresso or filter coffee, were found to be 27% less likely to have died during the study period than non-coffee drinkers; instant decaf drinkers were 14% less likely; and instant coffee drinkers were 11% less likely.

The results suggest that mild to moderate intake of ground, instant and decaffeinated coffee should be considered part of a healthy lifestyle!

Maybe I should reduce my coffee intake to a moderate level or just carry on with the coffee addiction and hope it has even greater death delaying abilities!!
